A Chance Encounter

In this session, the group was taken through the process and importance of the elements of "Pre-production." Topics within the process consist of the Treatment, Script,Storyboards and lastly with all these components havig being thoroughly investigated the production can therefore commence and the digital media can be constructed hopefully without any backlogs that havent been dissected to an intimate enough standard in the Pre production stages.

Following on from this introduction to the session, we were assigned groups to formulate a pre production to the topic "A Chance Encounter" My group (6people of which only 4 were present)  decided on a treatment of a fairytale "Cinderella" and to transform it into a modern day "student life" scenario. Storyboarding and discussion were the main activities undegone during the session. With two people absent we had no choie but to assign them each roles within the production scheme that they were satisfied with.

Jotting down the main points of the brief..

Before we were able to do the storyboard we firstly had to find suitable locations within and surrounding the university that would compliment our treatments. Our group was foruate to find these locations that will, when it comes to shooting the scenes illuminate the storyline. 

I wanted to keep the sketches simple and informative simultaneously. Going from Top left to  bottom right, scene 4 (the final scene in the production.)  The girl encounters a fairy godmother who replaces her broken phone with a new iphone, provides her with party clothing, provides transport to the party,we then see the girl exeunts the scene in the car and the final section is a caption sign "Fin." 

We start shooting these scenes in the upcoming lecture (21/November/2011) so fingers crossed it will be successful!
